Carol E. Nagel, beloved mother and grandmother, 82 of West Chester, died at her home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
She was the wife of the late Walter R. Nagel.
Born March 3, 1939 in Charleston, WV, she was the daughter of the late Cyril Gilbert and the late Genevieve Bridwell.
Carol, along with her sister Joan Haynes, grew up in West Virginia. Carol attended Morris Harvey College and graduated with a degree in Music Education. A classically trained pianist, Carol used her love of music and was the Music Teacher, Music Director and/or Organist for several churches she attended over her lifetime.
Mom’s true passion as she confessed was art. Mom became a brilliant artist creating original works for friends and family until the end. Mom’s other love was her pet dog Lucy, who never left her side after Walt’s passing.
Carol met the love of her life and married Walter Nagel. They were married for 55 years. They had four beautiful children, Sharon, Christopher, Daniel and Emily. “Omah” as she was known to her grandchildren is also survived by grandchildren Samuel, Cole, Arden, Michael, Julia, Claire and Jack. Mom’s greatest joy was being surrounded by her children and grandchildren and enjoying the simple things in life.
There will be a private family service. Live streaming of her service will start at 11am on Saturday December 11, 2021 and can be accessed by visiting https://youtu.be/biLbJ_P0W7A
