Bruce A. Wood, Jr.

Bruce A. Wood Jr., 94 of West Chester, passed away Tuesday July 9, 2024 at The Hickman in West Chester. He was the husband of the late Helen F. Wood.

Born March 13, 1930 in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of the late Bruce A. Wood Sr. and the late Lillian Wood.

Bruce attended West Chester High School and worked for Johnson Matthey for 40 years.

He shared 70 years of marriage with Helen. During his lifetime, Bruce enjoyed riding motorcycles with the Retreads motorcycle Club (he was a member for 29 years), building things in his workshop, hunting, gardening and had a special fondness for their basset hounds, Betsy, Meg, Midge and Alex.

Bruce is survived by a sister and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Service at 7:00 pm

Interment will be private at a later date in Green Mount Cemetery West Chester PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brandywine Valley SPCA
