Bonita Freeman-Witthoft

Bonita Freeman-Witthoft, Emeritus, 78 years, passed away on Tuesday September 10, 2024 at The Arbors in Exton, Pa. She was predeceased in death by her husband Dr. John G. Witthoft.

Bonney was born February 8, 1946 in Bangor, Maine.  She was the daughter of the late Daniel F. Freeman and the late Wilda M. Morrison Freeman.

Bonney was an Anthropology Professor for thirty-five years at West Chester University in the Anthropology Department.  Bonney was instrumental in the Ethnic Studies department for many years.  Bonney was a member of many international affiliations during her tenor at the University.  She authored many research articles related to Anthropology and Ethnic Studies. She encouraged many students to remember their ethnicity.

Bonnie is survived by her son Thomas Charles Witthoft and daughter Miriah Witthoft.  She is also survived by grandchildren Nathan Witthoft and Levi Witthoft.

Interment will be in Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
