Betty Dietz Tipton Obituary

Betty Dietz Tipton, 83 of Acworth, GA passed away Tuesday November 24, 2020 at ArborSquare in West Chester, PA.

She was the wife of the late James Allison Tipton of Acworth, GA for 58 years.  James was a career Army Officer, and they made their lives all over the world.

Born December 4, 1936 in Atlanta, GA she was the daughter of the late Ernst "Chubby" Dietz and the late Mary Archer Dietz.

Betty was a graduate of North Fulton High School and went to college at the Atlanta Art Institute.

She worked as an Artist and made her mark in Interior Design and Interior Decorating. Later in life she a well known for her sculptures and wood carvings. She was most proud of her bird habitat carvings and Native American carvings.  She was a featured artist in museums in North Gorgia and had pieces travel on the Smithsonian Art Tours.

Betty loved the outdoors.  She admired wildlife and her “birds “wherever she went.  Growing up as the daughter of an artist and avid waterman, she found herself on the water and admiring nature at a very young age.

She is survived by her daughter Mellissa Tipton (Francis Reynolds) of Naples Florida and son, Dailey Archer Tipton (Jessica) of West Chester, PA and their children, Nate Tipton (Kacie) their new son Axel of Portland Maine and Leah Tipton of Miami Beach, Florida.  Her sister, Marylynn Downey (Jim) and their family in Georgia.

She was preceded in death by Husband,  James Tipton and Sister Barbara Dietz.

Services & Interment will be Scheduled at the Georgia national Cemetery where Betty will join James at a later date.
