Obituary

Barbara Ann Fedor, 86, passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2025. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Born to Rose and Mark Peragallo on September 7, 1938, in Staten Island, NY, Barbara grew up alongside her older brother, Don. She often reminisced about their magical childhood with frequent trips to the zoo, ice skating at Clove Lake Park, summers at "Police Camp" in the Catskill Mountains, and visits to Manhattan during the holidays.

An avid reader and bright student, Barbara pursued early childhood development at Staten Island's Wagner College. It was there that she met her future husband, Stephen Fedor. In their first five years of marriage, they had three sons, David, Donald, and Mark, while relocating 15 times, coast to coast, with the Burroughs Corporation. In 1964, they settled in West Chester, PA, where they bought their dream home, adding daughter Sharon to their family in 1965.

Barbara had a gift for nurturing others, a talent she poured into her 30-year career as one of the founding preschool teachers at Advent Lutheran Church's Nursery School. As charter members of the Church, Barbara and Steve built life-long friendships with other charter members, dining out locally as the "Gourmet Club" and in later years traveling together internationally.

A master of the bridge table, Barbara played several times a week, enjoying the competition, conversation, laughter, and camaraderie. One of her bridge groups traveled to Maine each summer, where she satisfied both her love of cards and lobster rolls. She also treasured family vacations to Topsail Beach, NC, where she enjoyed swimming in the ocean and hunting for shark's teeth with her mother, children, and grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Fedor, and her brother, Don Peragallo.

She is survived by her four (4) children, David (Cindy), Donald, Mark (Linda), and Sharon (John) O'Neill, along with her seven (7) grandchildren, Lauren, Stephanie, Erica, Alyssa, Sean, Julia, and Ryan, and two (2) great-grandchildren, Atlas and Wade - each of whom brought her immense joy. As the heart of her family, Barbara will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to share memories and stories.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Advent Lutheran Church 1601 Green Lane, West Chester, PA 19382.
