Barbara Claire Coxe

Barbara Claire Coxe, 95 of West Chester, PA passed away Monday October 16, 2023 at Pottstown Hospital.

She was the wife of John R. Coxe.

Born October 8, 1928 in Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Walter Berkheimer and the late Doris Owens Berkheimer.

Barbara grew up in Sun Village in Chester and graduated from Chester High School. She also lived in Glenolden and Norwood, Delaware County and then resided in West Chester, Chester County for the last 54 years.  

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. 

She enjoyed QVC shopping, bird watching and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children: Valerie A. Derendinger (Scott), Robert J. Taylor (Vicky), Walter M. Taylor (Chris), Lisa L. Duffy (Tony), Tammi L. Coxe (Kathy).

12 Grandchildren- Barb, Tara, Stephen Jr (Joanne), Michael, Jennifer, Crystal, Christopher (Erica), Ashley (Kevin), Danny (Kelly), Max (Brittany), Travis, Cooper.

14 Great grandchildren- Stephen III, Ryan, Melissa, Aaron, Samantha, Brianna, Alexa, Cheyenne, Kadence, Maddison, Zoe, Jalen, Jaxon, Adelia. 

She was preceded in death by Walter F Berkheimer (father), Doris Berkheimer (mother), Albert J. Taylor (first husband).

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 am.

Interment will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery Linwood PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA and/or American Heart Association and/or the West Chester Food Cupboard.
