Anne F. O'Brien, 101, of West Chester, PA, passed away with family at her side January 23, 2026 at The Hickman where she resided for the past six years.
Anne was born in Pottsville, PA to the late Charles and Mary (nee Devine) Feinauer on September 22, 1924. She was the last surviving of her five siblings: Dorothy Gittleman, Charles Feinauer, Peg O'Donnell, Joe Feinauer and Mary Naylor.
Anne married Joseph Gerald O’Brien in 1947 and spent 57 years together until Joe’s passing February 2005. She is predeceased by her son Jack (March 1973) and daughter Kathy (November 2025). She is survived by her children: Tom, Patti, Muffet (Matt), Joseph (Joanne), Michael (Judy) and Peg (Joe). She greatly loved her children, 16 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Anne graduated from Pottsville Catholic High School in 1942. She was the Salutatorian of her graduating class. She was a patriot and worked at Fort Meade in Maryland and Fort Indiantown Gap during WWII. After WWII Anne worked for the Pennsylvania National Guard as assistant to the Property and Disbursing Officer. Anne was a charter member of the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. After raising her eight children, Anne returned to the workforce and worked for Nationwide Insurance Company in West Chester for 16 years.
Anne was a longtime member of St. Agnes Church in West Chester. She volunteered and was involved in Saint Agnes School from 1961 when her eldest son entered school until 1976 when her last child graduated. After her retirement, she volunteered at Chester County Hospital.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA. Visitation will be prior to the Mass beginning at 9:15 AM. Private burial at St. Agnes Cemetery.
