Anne M. Hayes

Anne (Annie) M. Hayes, 88 of West Chester, PA passed away Wednesday July 17, 2024 at The Hickman in West Chester.

She was the loving wife of the late J. Richard (Binky) Hayes.

Born January 31, 1936 in West Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph Charles Moroney and the late Elizabeth Hocking Moroney.

Annie grew up in West Chester, graduating from West Chester Joint Senior High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1957 from West Chester State Teachers College. She worked as a 1st grade Teacher at East Fallowfield School district resigning her position to start her family. Her second career was produce manager at the West Goshen Acme bringing a smile to every person she met.

Anne was a faithful member of Calvary Lutheran Church for many years. From weekends at the shore with her best friend, Jackie, to spending time with family and friends, she was also an avid reader, a longtime member of Roslyn Swim Club, and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxillary of the VFW Post 106.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Linda Storey, 6 grandchildren, Rik, Sharyn, Michael, Jeremiah, Zach, and Daniel and 10 Great Grands.

She was welcomed in Heaven by her loving parents, husband, Binky, daughter, Lisa, very special friend, Eugene Mauger, sister, Hazel Krauss, and brother, Joseph (Buck) Moroney.

Services and Interment will be Private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Hickman.
