Anita C. Elauria

Anita C. Elauria, 87 of Downingtown, PA passed away after a brief illness on Saturday May 31, 2025 at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA.

Born April 17, 1938 in Pagsanjan, Laguna, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Moises B. Elauria and the late Salud  C. Elauria.

Anita (Annie) grew up in Laguna and graduated from the Union College, Santa Cruz, Laguna with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.

She worked as a teacher for several years before immigrating to the United States in 1982, becoming a US citizen in 1989.  She dedicated her life helping her siblings’ families.   Her happiness was being around babies, cherishing all her nephews and nieces.   Notably, she took care of her siblings first born children.  She most enjoyed her work at the then Carousel Nursery School in Exton.  She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting bedspreads, table runners, window curtains, etc., and her endless collecting of rosaries, souvenir magnets, miniature dolls and animals and watching TV.  She enjoyed her travels to Spain, France, England, Andorra, Taiwan, Thailand, Canada, Aruba and the many visits to her homeland. 

Anita is survived here in the US by her sister, Zenaida E. Gomez, brother-in-law, Wilfredo C. Gomez, nephews and niece namely Arnelito Castro, Alvin Castro, Alan Castro, Wilfred Gomez, Wylie Gomez, Laurene Johnson and their families and a host of relatives in the Philippines.

She was preceded in death by her eldest sister Gloria Castro (US) and brothers Armando, Mario and Ildefonso Elauria (Philippines).

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester PA.
