Alice V. Shields

Alice V. Shields of Hershey Mills, West Chester, PA passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Born May 31,1928 in Woodlyn, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah Shields and the late Anne Shields. She is preceded in death by her sister Mary T. Shields and her brother John J. Shields Sr. 

Alice grew up in Woodlyn, PA and attended Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA. She received her RN from Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and her Bachelor of Nursing from University of Pennsylvania. 

Alice worked at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital for 43 years. She held multiple nursing and supervisory positions before retiring as Director of the Home Care/Hospice Department.

Alice was a long-time parishioner and parish office volunteer at SS. Peter & Paul Church in West Chester, PA. 

She enjoyed traveling with her sister Mary to NYC, Florida and especially her trips abroad to Italy and Ireland. 

Alice is survived by nephews, Kevin (Rose), John (Reenie), niece, Maureen; sister-in-law, Joy Shields and several great nieces and great nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 9:30 am - 10:15 am at SS. Peter & Paul Church 1325 E. Boot Rd. West Chester, PA 19380, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am.

Interment will be Private.
