Official Obituary of

Alfred "Al" Kaufmann

December 6, 1944 ~ July 1, 2026 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Obituary

Alfred R. Kaufmann, known to everyone as Al, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eva, his brother Raymond (Karen), his children Paul (Kathryn Luebke) and Anna (Brett Olson), and by grandchildren who called him “Opa”: Holden, Daven, Aldous, Cid, Aiden and Evie, Cody, a new baby granddaughter, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Born in Philadelphia, Al was a proud graduate of Roman Catholic High School. He was drafted into the Army and was sent to Viet Nam, where he served with the Vietnamese army as a small arms advisor and intelligence gather.

Upon completion of his duty, he returned and enrolled in Villanova University. In his career he worked in sales management in the Temperature Controls Division of Honeywell. In his later years he changed careers and used his talents to sell Subarus.

Al was the ultimate “car guy.” As a young man he drag raced and did his own mechanical work. Over the years he owned many fast cars including a Hemi ‘Cuda, several Porsches, and classic and new Corvettes, the newest of which he purchased just last fall. Of course he owned Subarus!

Al was a man of many interests. He enjoyed Philadelphia sports, golf, fishing, and travel. He and Eva had the opportunity to visit many European and Caribbean destinations.  He was a true Eagles fan!  The games became a Sunday ritual at home. He was an avid collector of model trains and enjoyed running and displaying them.

Most of all, Al was a proud family man, and a loving, caring husband. He was happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren.

With a charming personality and quick-witted sense of humor, Al had the ability to get to know people quickly. He made new friends wherever he went. He will be missed by many!

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 N.
