Obituary

Aldo G. Maino, 88, a long-time resident of West Chester, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020.  After a career in defense and commercial engineering, Al retired from General Electric as a manager of quality and product assurance.  Born on March 8, 1932 in New Britain, CT, he was the son of Frank and Annetta (Ogliaro) Maino.

Al proudly served in the U. S. Air Force as an aircraft radio technician stationed at Scott Air Force Base, Saint Louis IL.  He traveled throughout the world during his service but always had fond memories of his time in Casablanca Morocco.  He was honorably discharged in July 1954. He attended the University of Connecticut and in 1958, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electric Engineering. On November 4, 1961, Al married Dolores Frank, who predeceased him in 2014.

Al had a passion for the Philadelphia Phillies and he never missed checking in by tv or radio. Later in life he later became very attached to Villanova Basketball and Penn State football. 

Al is survived by his sons, James (Holly) of Chester Springs, and Joseph (Denise) of Lumberton, N.J., his brother Bruno of Rochester Hills, MI, grandchildren Gregory, Paige, Jonathan and Jenna, and several nieces and nephews. Al was a long-time active member of Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in West Chester, PA, including serving as a lector for many years, and a volunteer aide at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation while wearing masks on Tuesday October 27, 2020 from 10:00 -10:45 am at SS. Peter & Paul Church 1325 Boot Road, West Chester, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment will be private.
