Robert J. Bjorkstedt

Robert J. Bjorkstedt, 70 of West Chester, PA died on Friday December 28, 2018 at home.

He was the husband of Phyllis M. Young Bjorkstedt.

Born October 28, 1948 in Queens, NY he was the son of the late Carl Bjorkstedt and the late Alice Reisinger Bjorkstedt.

Robert graduated from Columbia University in New York with a degree in Engineering. He then continued his education and graduated with a master’s degree in business administration from Carnegie Mellon University of Pittsburgh PA.

He had worked as a Senior Vice President at the First Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia. After his retirement Robert worked at the Philadelphia Inquirer as a newspaper distributor.

Robert was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and was a soccer coach for many years. He enjoyed golf and most recently watching professional soccer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Foxwell and her husband Aaron, Jennifer Smith and her husband Matthew, grandchildren Sarah, Hannah and Oliver. He is also survived by his brother Peter Bjorkstedt and a sister Linda Bjorkstedt.

Robert was predeceased by his son Matthew Bjorkstedt.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380; 610-696-1181; www.DellaFH.com. followed by his Memorial Service at 2:00 pm.

Interment will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
