Philip H. Stong of Downingtown.

Philip H. Stong, 68 of Downingtown, PA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Paoli Hospital in Paoli surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Lynne A. Harvey Stong.

Born July 21, 1948 in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Harold Stong and the late Julia McCullen Stong.

He graduated from Downingtown High School.

Philip proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and was honorable discharged.

He began what would be a forty-year long career as a computer field service engineer working for DEC, Compaq, and retiring from Hewlett-Packard.

He was a 32nd degree Mason and two-time Past Master of the West Chester Masonic Lodge #322, F. & A.M.

He took great pride in his home. Mowing, rather than a chore, was something he looked forward to each week. The Civil War greatly interested him, and he often visited Gettysburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Christian, Jonathan, and Jordan; siblings Blaine and sister-in-law Mary, Harry and sister-in-law Dorrie, Todd and sister-in-law Vivian, Sherry Davis and brother-in-law Brent, Hollie Bradford and brother-in-law Roger, Meg Mehl and brother-in-law Matt, and Carol Huey; and six grandchildren.

Services and Interment will be private.
