Philip C. Kennedy

Philip C. Kennedy, of Downingtown, PA passed away peacefully Thursday June 6, 2019 at Penn Medicine Hospice in West Chester.

He was the loving husband of 50 years to Shirley Haluska Kennedy.

Born June 15, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Vincent L. Kennedy and Edith Hunter Kennedy.

He was a US Army veteran serving from 1960-1962.

Philip had worked as a Foreman/Pile Driver for the Wharf & Dock Builders Local Union #454.

He was a member of the Penn Wynne Volunteer Fireman.

Philip loved fishing, hunting, and spending time at his vacation home in Maine.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Haluska Kennedy of Downingtown, PA, sister, Gail Kennedy, son, Sean (Suzanne) Kennedy, grandchildren Liam, Brendan, and Declan, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Philip V. Kennedy; twin sister, Patricia Medio; and brother, Vincent Kennedy.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday June 13, 2019 from 9:30am – 10:30am at SS. Peter and Paul Church 1325 E. Boot Rd. West Chester PA 19380; followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30am.

Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SS. Peter and Paul School Scholarship Fund 1327 Boot Rd, West Chester, PA 19380 and/or Penn Medicine Hospice Care of Chester County (Formally known as Neighborhood Hospice) 400 E. Marshall St. West Chester, PA 19380.
