Peter Wallace Orr

Peter Wallace Orr, 89 of West Chester, PA, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Freedom Village   in Coatesville.

He was the husband of Joan L. Frank Orr with whom he shared 31 years of marriage and the late Betty Grosse Orr.

Born August 2, 1929 in Vancouver, Canada, he was the son of the late Peter Wallace Orr and the late Burtha Neal Orr.Peter graduated from High School in Seattle, WA. He went on to get his Master's in Forest Entomology after graduating from University of Washington College of Forestry and the University of New York in Syracuse, NY.  He worked for 38 years with the US. Forest Service and oversaw the Cooperative States and Private Forestry Pest Program in 20 Eastern States.

Peter was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity in West Chester, the East Bradford Parks and Recreation where he served on the Board and the West Lions Club. He volunteered at the Chester County Hospital where he was on the May Day Committee and was co-chair of the May Festival.  

Peter enjoyed travelling, and in his younger year’s mountain climbing, camping and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons David W. Orr (Selma), Douglas J. Orr (Oak) and John A. Orr; grandchildren Jack, Camila, William and Stephen.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 10:00- 11:00 am at Church of the Holy Trinity, 212 S. High St. West Chester, PA 19382; followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 am. 

Interment will be private.
