Miel Ashley Medley

On Saturday, July 13th we suffered a tremendous loss when our beautiful daughter and sister went to heaven. Miel was born on September 5, 1983 in Fairfax, Virginia.

Miel is survived by her father, Terry Medley, her mother Gerre Medley and her brother Brandon Medley…all of us residing in West Chester, PA. 

Miel attended Barcroft Elementary School, HB Woodlawn Middle School in Arlington, VA. and her high school years were spent at Henderson High School in West Chester, PA.

Miel attended Penn State Main Campus where she majored in communications.

After graduating, Miel worked for several non-profit organizations with diverse missions. Organizations that sought to inspire and cultivate new generations of global leaders in communities divided by conflict, and supported the central organizational body for a religious group in the Philadelphia area. In addition, working for an organization whose dedicated mission is a world where no one dies from mosquito bites - Malaria No More and for a non-profit center for health-related pastoral care, clinical education and research.

A gorgeous young lady, an incredible writer, a fabulous dresser, a heart of gold and a smile that truly lit up a room. This is our Miel.

A Celebration of Miel's Life will begin at 2:00pm on Sunday, July 21st at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church St. West Chester, PA  19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Chester Area Day Care Center 501 East Nields St. West Chester, PA 19382. Miel worked there for a few summer's while in high school and loved it.
