Michael Gould Obituary

Michael R. Gould of West Chester.

Michael R. Gould, 87 of West Chester, PA died Sunday January 6, 2019 at Arbour Square in West Chester.

He was the husband of the late Mildred Bernard Gould.

Born April 28, 1931 in Upper Darby, PA he was the son of the late Michael B. Gould and the late Evelyn Warner Gould.

Michael served in the United States Air Force from September 11, 1950 to September 10, 1954 during the Korean War.  He was a partner in P&G Associates, a firm he co-founded in 1974, and remained actively involved until his death.

Mike’s life-long pride as a salesman was reflected in his devotion to and respect for his customers as well as in his wry storytelling, always with a glint in his eye.  He started P & G Associates with his brother-in-law, Dominic Pilotti, working as a manufacturer’s sales rep for decades, still serving one customer until his death. His passion for business was surpassed only by his love for his wife, Millie, who he met in Ocean City, NJ, where they both joyfully vacationed with their four children for decades.  With Millie by his side, Mike traveled to Europe and to Egypt, where they stood before the pyramids and rode camels. They traveled to Alaska, where Mike’s brother Don and family had retired, and proudly fished for salmon.  Mike loved music, including Johnny Cash, Charlie Pride, and the classic Frank Sinatra tunes to which he and Millie danced even into the last years of their lives together.

Mike expressed pride in providing for his children, and he adored his grandchildren, to whom he was always ready to give advice and support. His neighbors and friends were cherished by him, both the life-long friendships and the new ones he made with the friends, medical professionals, and staff at Atria Senior Living and most recently at Arbour Square in West Chester, PA.

Michael is survived by his children, Ronald M. Gould and his wife Sandra, Donna L. Gould, Deborah Arnold and her husband Mark, and Lori E. Barnes and her husband Owen; also survived by his sisters, Marcia Pilotti and Barbara Torg; grandchildren, Valerie, Laura, Jacob and Morgan, and great grandchildren Katie, Lainey, Michaela, and Scarlett.

He was preceded in death by a brother, the late Donald Gould.
