Max Thomas Engle

Max Thomas Engle, of West Chester, died September 19th, after a brave fight following a cardiac arrest.  

Max is the son of Tom & Lynn Engle, of West Grove. He was the light of their lives.  He was life-long best friend and hero to his sister, Claire Engle. 

Max was his happiest, and his best, with the love of his life, his fiancé, Jamie Doran. He was the world’s best uncle to Hadley Hilton, and to Jack, Alden and Everett Kourakis. 

As a Chester County Probation Officer, he touched and changed many lives. He lived life to the max. He was passionate about working out (most of the time), the Philadelphia Eagles, and his epic beard. He was a strong man, with a soft and tender heart.

Max is also survived by his grandparents, Richard & Jane Ervin of Mt Pleasant Michigan, Linda Hartman of West Grove and Betty Engle of Houghton Lake Michigan, aunts and uncles who loved him like their own, cousins he loved like brothers and sisters, his future in laws, Terry & Patti Doran, Katie & Kosta Kourakis, and Patrick Doran, all of West Chester, and his dogs, Abby and Sonny.

The Engle & Doran families would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Neuro Intensive Care Unit, especially Dr. Ramani Balu, and nurses Dana & Joy. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday September 24, 2018 from 4-8pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church St. West Chester www.Dellafh.com 610-696-1181 and also on Tuesday September 25, 2018 from 9-10am at the Westminster Presbyterian Church 10 W Pleasant Grove Rd, West Chester, PA 19382 followed by his Funeral Service at 10am. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
