Maryann B. Tracey, 74 of West Chester, formerly of Medford, NJ died Thursday April 19, 2018 at Paoli Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late Thomas R. Tracey and devoted mother to John Tracey of West Chester, Pa and Amy (Tracey) Mariconda of Guilford, CT.
Born August 13, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Albert J. Braubitz and the late Mary Duffy Braubitz.
Maryann was a 1961 graduate of St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls. In 1967 Maryann moved to Medford, NJ with her husband and young son to build a life in the growing community. Over the years she became very active in local community and civic activities, including working each November as Chairwoman at the local Medford Election Committee and holding numerous positions in several Gardening Groups and Women’s Associations in the area. Maryann was a very active member of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Marlton New Jersey, where she served as Church decorator and taught CCD for many years.
In 2008 she and Tom moved to West Chester and settled in Hershey’s Mill, where she quickly fell in love with the community and its area. She pursued her love of singing in the SS Peter and Paul choir and performing with the Hershey’s Mill Players. In her spare time Maryann enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing bingo and rummy cube, and, most of all, riding the boardwalk amusements and enjoying Johnson’s Popcorn in Ocean City with her four wonderful grandchildren.
In addition to John and Amy, she is survived by her daughter-in-law Bernadette (Rossano) Tracey and son-in-law Dominick Mariconda, as well as grandchildren Thomas Richard Tracey II, Celia Joy Mariconda, Michael Joseph Tracey and Lily Mae Mariconda
Maryann was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Braubitz.
Relatives and Friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at SS. Peter & Paul Church 1325 Boot Rd. West Chester PA 19380.
Interment will be private.
