Mary Ellen Kohri

Mary Ellen Kohri (nee Braid), 65, of Chester Springs, PA died Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester.

She was the beloved wife of Joseph M. Kohri. The loving mother of Kimberly Malinowski (Michael), Louis Santamaria and Danielle Tatum (John).  Devoted grandmother of Brittany, Jessica, Madison, Jack, Ethan, Christopher, Scotty, Evelyn and Tara --Great Gram:to Aubrey and Carter. Devoted sister to twin Ruth and little sister, Thelma.  

Born January 28, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA, she is the daughter of Virginia Braid (nee Fulton) and the late William John Braid.

She was preceded in death by her father, William John Braid when Mary was just nineteen years old.

Anyone who knew Mary--- knew love in the best way possible---up close and personal. Mary was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to so many. Mary’s memory will forever inspire all of those whom she left behind, by her example of a life well lived with love and intention. She made sharing love of family and friends her first priority in life.           

Her love and intention were especially apparent in her home, garden, and interests. When you visited her garden---she gleefully and lovingly proclaimed every flower that grew there and how to care for it---if you were interested and its Latin name---if you cared.  She tended her garden with the same love and care as she gave to every endeavor she ever undertook. She was a gracious homemaker and a baker extraordinaire.  She could make draperies for her windows as easily as she could cook a meal.  She cared deeply about the Earth and could name all of the birds that visited her feeders, by sight or song. She enjoyed traveling and every new opportunity it created. And In her spare time, she was an avid reader.

During her working years Mary had worked as a customer service representative for various local banks. For a time, Mary was the small business owner of a commercial cleaning service (cleanliness was next to Godliness as far as Mary was concerned). Mary was also a licensed Real Estate agent in both PA and VA.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitations on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 7- 9 PM at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; and on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 9-9:45 AM at St. Elizabeth Church 110 Saint Elizabeth Dr., Chester Springs, PA 19425; followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 AM.

Interment will be held in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
