Maria Eugenia Romero Varela

Maria Eugenia Romero Varela, 50 of West Chester, PA passed away on June 13, 2019 at Penn Presbyterian Hospital Philadelphia, PA surrounded by her family.

Maria was one of 10 siblings born of the late Gregorio Romero Romero and the late Augustina Varela Ortiz of Mexico.

She was the wife of Estevan Penaloza Alpizar with whom she shared 26 years of marriage.

A homemaker, Maria enjoyed taking care of her family. She was always happy and had a great attitude. Maria loved going to parties and having people, family and friends alike, over for visits sharing meals and good times. Her grandchildren where her main priority. Red was Maria’s favorite color so naturally she loved roses.  

She was a member of Saint Agnes Church West Chester, PA.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Estevan Junior Penaloza Romero, Veronica Penaloza Romero Maldonado (Jose Maldonado Garcia), and Gabriel Penaloza Romero; Brothers Gonzalo Romero Varela, Alejandro Romero Varela, Gregorio Romero Varela, Costodio Romero Varela, Libardo Romero Varela, Mario Romero Varela ,Gavino Romero Varela;  Sisters Nativida Romero Varela, Cristina Romero Varela and Remedios Romero Varela; 3 Grandchildren Maria, Daisy, and Scarlet. Also left to cherish her memory is a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored and friends.

She was preceded in death by her oldest child who passed at birth and brothers Jorge Romero Varela and Silverio Romero Varela.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 6:00pm - 10:00pm at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home 410 N. Church St., West Chester PA 610.696.1181 DellaFH.com and on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 9:00am - 10:00am at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00am.

Interment will be in Capula Cemetery, Sultepec, Mexico on August 1, 2019.
