Margaret Jean Kolakowski formerly of Sparta, NJ

Margaret Jean Kolakowski, 85, formerly of Sparta, NJ, Macungie, PA and most recently Glen Mills, PA died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester.

She was the wife of the late Arthur E. Kolakowski.

Born January 23, 1933 in Dover, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Walter Jarrett and the late Edith McConnell Jarrett.

Jean was a 41-year resident of Sparta, NJ before moving to Macungie, PA and then for the past five years living in Glen Mills, PA.

Her passion was volunteering.  She volunteered for many years at Newton Memorial Hospital, where she also served on the Board of Directors. When living in Macungie, PA she continued to volunteer at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Jean was very social and enjoyed time with her many friends playing bridge and mahjong. She and her late husband Art were married for 55 years.  Together they traveled often including visits to Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Germany and France. Together they had fond memories and many friends from their time as members at Lake Mohawk Golf Club. 

She is survived by her sons, Mike Kolakowski and his wife Kris of Cincinnati, OH, Tim Kolakowski and his wife Sheryl of West Chester, PA; grandchildren, Christopher Kolakowski, Ashley Kolakowski Corall, Daniel Kolakowski and Ryan Kolakowski; great grandchildren, Jackson Kolakowski, Carter Kolakowski, and Reagan Corall.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandy Kolakowski.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 9:15 am - 10:15 am at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road Glen Mills, PA 19342; followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am.

Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband at Resurrection Cemetery in Allentown, PA on Tuesday morning at 10am. Those wishing to join the family are most welcome. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Thomas the Apostle Church, at the above address and/or a Charity of your choice.
