Joseph J. Izzi, Sr. of West Chester

Joseph J. Izzi, 95, of West Chester, PA died Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester.

He was the husband of the late Betty Yohn Izzi.

Born February 29, 1924 in West Chester, PA he was the son of the late Antonio Izzi and the late Adelina Mattioli Izzi.

He served in the United States Army during WWII from 1943 – 1946.

Prior to his retirement, Joseph worked as a Mail Carrier for the West Chester Post Office.

Joseph was a life member of the VFW Post #106, Italian Social Club, Fame Fire Company, and the Eagles Social Club.  Joe enjoyed art, photography, family picnics, going to the casino and telling jokes.

He is survived by his son Joseph J. Izzi, Jr. and wife Tracey, granddaughter Ava Izzi, sisters Irma Cimini and Jessie Howe, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his four brothers Dorino, Michael, John and Anthony.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay Street, West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
