John Edward (Ted) Johnson, 65, died on May 5, 2019, following a bravely fought battle with cancer. Ted was born January 1, 1954 and was the first 'New Year's Baby' born in Delaware County that year. He was a son of Shirley (Parsons) Johnson and Morton Richard Johnson. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary Cox-Fallon-Johnson for 29 years of marriage.
Ted graduated from the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in 1972 and attended Penn State University's Speech and Hearing Clinic in 1974.
He was a retiree of the United States Postal Service in Coatesville, PA, where he held the position as a transportation and maintenance engineer for USPS buildings and equipment and as a courier between postal offices in the greater southeastern distribution area for 31 years. He also worked for Ber-Lyn Auto Body in West Chester, PA, where he had been a professional finish painter, and for Enterprise Rental Cars in Exton, PA.
Ted held a 3rd degree karate black belt. He also had been a lifelong motorcyclist taking meticulous interest in his. two Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also loved shooting straight pool and eight ball billiards. He has a love for animals having rescued many.
He is survived by his two brothers, Richard P. Johnson of West Chester and Issac I. Johnson of Exton. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael Dane Johnson who served in the Vietnam War. He will be lovingly remembered by his many friends, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday May 9, 2019 from 10:30-11:30am at the SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church 8 Cavanaugh Ct. West Chester, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30am. Interment will be at the Media Cemetery.
