Joan M. Godlewski of West Chester.
Joan M. Godlewski, 76 of West Chester, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Penn Medicine Hospice at Chester County in West Chester.
She was the wife of Joseph M. Godlewski for 56 years.
Born June 20, 1943 in Liverpool, England, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Lamkin and the late Christina Dooley Lamkin.
She emigrated here from Liverpool when she was a teenager.
Joan completed her secondary education in Liverpool, England and enjoyed taking many classes at Immaculata University. She eventually received her insurance licenses and was a notary public.
Joan owned and operated a beauty salon for many years. Later, helped her husband as an office manager for their insurance business.
Joan was a member of St Agnes Church in West Chester.
She loved her family, golf, cooking, and all things British.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters Annmarie G. Collins (Brendan) and Karin G. Ricciardi ( Matthew); 10 grandchildren, Morgan Collins Bush, Xavier Collins, Anastasia Collins Sumpaopol, Cecilia Collins McMahon, Peter Collins, Amelia Collins, Nicholas Ricciardi, Peyton Ricciardi, Ryan Ricciardi and Claire Giblin; and 6 great grandchildren, Madeleine, Nathaniel, Calvin and Isaac Bush, Rowan and Arlo Sumpaopol.
She was predeceased by her son Paul Godlewski and grandson Liam Collins.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 10-10:45am at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380; Followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00am.
Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown.
