Joan Delpino Obituary

Joan Delpino passed away on March 7, 2018 at the age of 87. She is mourned by her husband of 63 years, Lawrence (Bud) Delpino, Jr. and her 5 children, Julia, Lawrence (Del), David, Bill and Dan and their families. Joan was the fourth of eight children born to Laurence and Florence Phelan of Dalesford, PA.

Always a couple — Buddy & Joan did everything together. They raised a family of five while running Delpino’s Market (a West Chester landmark from 1908 to 1988). They retired to build a home along the Elk River in Hollywood Beach, Maryland where they volunteered with senior aid organizations and diligently advocated for the preservation of the Chesapeake Bay.

Joan’s love of Jesus touched all who met her. Joan was a believer in the constant indwelling of Jesus. She never stopped believing in miracles of healing love. She was small in stature but enormous in her lively faith.

Services will be held Friday, March 16 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 East Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA, with family receiving from 9:00 a.m. followed immediately by her funeral mass at 10 a.m.

Interment will then take place at St. Agnes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales at www.oblates.org.
