Jeanne Kelch, 76, of West Chester, died Friday, March 2nd, at Pembrooke Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Chester.
Born December 19th, 1941 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. McCarthy and the late Margaret M. Lynch McCarthy.
In addition to her husband, John Kelch, she is survived by her sister, Peggy Hawkins, and her seven children, thirteen grandchildren, and one great grandson.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Boston College, and went on to graduate from the Catherine Laboure School of Nursing in 1962.
Mrs. Kelch devoted her life to the care of others, working as the head nurse at Carney Hospital until she married and turned her attention to raising her children. Later in life, she returned to work as a nurse at Dr. Parson’s office, and eventually earned her certificate in addiction counseling and became the head of family services at Mirmont Treatment Center.
She was active and beloved member of SS. Peter and Paul parish throughout her time in West Chester, and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and socializing with friends in her spare time.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Friday March 9,2018 from 10-11am at SS. Peter & Paul Church, 1325 E. Boot Rd. West Chester, PA 19380; followed by her Funeral Mass at 11am.
Interment will be held in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
