Jack William Rowan

Jack William Rowan, age 69 of Malvern, passed away on May 15th, 2018.  He was born March 22nd, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late James J. Rowan and the late Rosemary Haggerty Rowan.

Jack grew up in Springfield, Delaware County and graduated from Springfield High school in 1967.  In 1971, Jack earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Drexel University, and in 1982, earned his Masters of Administration from Mercer University.

Beloved husband of 44 years to Patricia Cairnes Rowan and loving father of Jacquelyn and husband Brady F Aller, Brandon and wife Priscilla L Rowan, both of West Chester.  Also survived by 3 adoring grandchildren; Jack, Harrison, and Hadley Aller, brothers; James J. Rowan III of East Coventry Township, PA and Robert Rowan of Lincoln University, PA along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, co-worker, and friend to all.

Jack had a successful career in the insurance industry. He retired from XL Catlin in 2015 as Head of Claims Operations. Prior to XL, he worked for ACE USA where he was Vice President of Claims for 35 years.

Philadelphia sports was a big part of Jacks life. He loved nature, hiking, and reading on his back deck. He especially enjoyed the beaches of the Caribbean and scuba diving off the coast of Mexico. He spent many summer weekends on Lake Aldred where the family enjoyed boating and water skiing. 

Jack was a kind man, quick to listen, and always ready with a word of encouragement.  He would light up a room with his sweet smile and always make you laugh with his sense of humor. He was an incredible family man and will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, May18th 2018 from 9-11a.m. at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 N. Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; followed by his Funeral Service at 11a.m.

Interment will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
