Henry F. "Harry" Bilder

Henry F. “Harry” Bilder, 70, of Downingtown passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017. 

Born in Mt. Carmel, Pa, he was the son of the late Harry and Anna (Dougherty) Bilder Sr. 

He is survived by Steve McLean, his husband of 40 years.

Harry was a 1964 graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School. After serving in the Army, he moved to the Philadelphia suburbs working first at GE and then obtaining his barber license. 

Harry worked at Headquarters Hair Salon before opening his own business in 1983, Hair Innovations in downtown West Chester. Harry was an owner/operator there until his death.

Harry was a caring friend to many and loved to help animals. 

In addition to his husband, Steve, he is survived by two sisters-in-law, Connie Bilder of Morton and Bernadette Bilder of Mount Carmel; brother-in-law Don McLean of Freeport, ME, sister and brother-in-law Mitzy & Charlie Cattel of Weathersfield, CT and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, William Bilder and Robert Bilder; and a sister, Maryann Lenhart.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitations on Thursday April 6, 2017 from 2-4 pm and also from 6-7pm followed by his Memorial Service at 7pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church St. West Chester, 610-696-1181 www.DellaFH.com
