H. Elizabeth Ryan

H. Elizabeth Ryan, 98 of West Chester, PA succumbed to dementia after a courageous 14-year struggle on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at home.

She was the wife of the late William T. Ryan II.

Born in West Chester on Jan. 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William Tigue and Emma Sweeney Tigue.

She graduated from St. Agnes High School and Goldie Beacon College.

Elizabeth was co–founder of William T. Ryan Inc and Volair Contractors Wilmington, DE; retiring as treasurer in 2003 at 84 years old.

She is survived by her son, William T. Ryan III and brother Joseph Tigue. Granddaughters Crista, Kaitlin (Ben) and grandson Michael (Mellie) and great grandson Rowan.

Predeceased by husband William and daughter Susan, parents, five brothers, two sisters and two nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380; followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.

Interment will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
