Franky Phillips Obituary

Franky James Phillips

October 29, 1938 - June 11, 2018

Franky James Phillips, a loving companion and step father, died June 11th in West Chester Hospice surrounded by many of those who loved him, especially his 30-year companion Jerline Anderson.

Franky was a great contractor, he renovated homes and commercial properties throughout the Philadelphia region for over 45 years.  Franky enjoyed helping with home projects, such as building decks, painting, concrete, and stone work. No job was too hard for him. He was very skillful and highly sought by local builders.

Franky made lifelong friends wherever he went, living and loving life his way, humble and kind.  His favorite sport was baseball and he spent countless hours watching his favorite team, the Philly’s. Franky was an avid gardener; his home was filled with numerous plants. He loved the beach, relaxing on the porch, in his favorite chair, just watching boats go by. He would tell us stories about his adventures in the Merchant Marines. He also loved the islands, especially Aruba, and good seafood restaurants.  He was quick to share his political opinions. His favorite scripture was Psalm 23, “The Lord is my Shepard”.

Franky is survived by his longtime companion of 30 years, Jerline; his two step daughters, Germaine Anderson and Pandora Campbell (David); 7 step grandchildren Kye, Alexandra, Marisa, James, Lontay, Siron, and Tashon; his step great grandchildren, nephews and nieces; and many lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, sister, 2 brothers, and step grandson.

At the request of Franky, there will be a private memorial service at his favorite location in Ocean City, MD.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
