Francis E. "Frank" Patton, Jr.

July 22, 1941 ~ October 31, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Francis E. "Frank" Patton, Jr., 76 of West Chester, PA passed away on Tuesday October 31, 2017 at Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Charlotte Naomi Hoyle Patton whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Born July 22, 1941 in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was the son of the late Francis E. Patton, Sr. and the late Ethel Hallissey Patton.

Frank graduated from Haverford High School in 1959 and attended Villanova University.

He worked for Chilton and Centcom and in retirement drove buses for Westtown School.  He enjoyed watching the Westtown students participate in their athletic events.

Frank was a member of St. Agnes Church, West Chester, PA.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children, their spouses, eighteen grandchildren and his dog, Echo: Laurie Long and her children Brittney (husband Brian) Conzentino, Jimmy and Samantha, Frank Patton his children Brad, Kacie, Kylie, and Brett, Jim and Gail Patton and their children Lexy, Brody, and Blake, Courtney and Mark Bauer and their children Ryann, Jordyn, Rylee and Jake, Heather and Chris Conroy and their children Madisyn, Tyler, Bailey and Avery.  He was predeceased by his granddaughter Hope Bauer.

Frank was a strong man with a giant heart who loved his family with every ounce of himself. His true pride and joy came from supporting his family by attending every event possible. During the seldom times he was not at a sporting event, you could often find him bragging to anyone who would listen about the many successes of his children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching them play baseball, football, lacrosse, field hockey and track, but his true passion lied with wrestling, where he could often be found on the side of the mat. His undying support for each child and grandchild was contagious amongst the entire family, and in turn created what he liked to call, “The Patton Army”. Summers were spent by the pool where the lines “Ain’t this livin” and “The sun always shines at the Patton pool” were not unfamiliar to anyone who happened to visit. Frank was truly one of a kind, who inspired and created a clan of compassionate, dedicated and sometimes overly opinionated personalities, who exhibit the true meaning of family. His love and passion did not go unnoticed by many. “Pop-pop” as referred to by his grandkids, taught his family that hard work, dedication, demand for excellence, and a lot of confidence can get you just about anything in life.  Frank will be greatly missed by his loving family, and all who have had the honor of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 8:30 am - 10:30 am at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA; followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380, as he had a special love for dogs.
