Daniel S. Berliner

October 7, 1930 ~ February 23, 2019 (age 88)

Daniel S. Berliner of West Chester.

Daniel S. Berliner, 88 of West Chester, PA, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Chester County Hospital in West Chester.

He was the husband of Arlene Stern Berliner.

Born October 7, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Abraham Berliner and the late Jennie Flox Berliner.

Daniel received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Entomology from Penn State University, and a Master of Science in Education from Penn State University.

Daniel served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He worked for Valley Forge Military Academy and Junior College, Wayne, Pennsylvania and the Chester County Health Department, West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Daniel was a member of the West Chester Senior Center, West Chester, Pennsylvania.

He enjoyed Chess, Classical Music, Reading, Professional Ice Hockey, Drawing, Painting, Professional Baseball, Building Ship Models, Theater and Movies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jeffrey Mark Berliner (Kathleen) and Bruce David Berliner; grandchildren Joshua Ryan and Meghan Kathleen Berliner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers; Jerome, Sydney, and Emanuel.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181,; followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00 am. with Rabbi Elyse Seidner-Joseph officiating.   

Interment will be private.
