Constance L. Bond, age 93, journeyed to the other side November 25,2017 in her home. Constance (a.k.a. Connie) was born December 28, 1923 in West Chester, PA to the late Mae Bertha Henry and Leon O. Anderson Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband David E. Bond Sr. and her sister Doris M. Bond.

Connie was a resident of West Chester for 93 years. She was a long-time member of Second Presbyterian Church. She graduated from West Chester Joint Junior/Senior High School. She attended Cheyney University with the hopes of attaining a teaching career.

February 28, 1943, Connie married David E. Bond Sr. While raising a family of 4, she worked in many job capacities outside of the home. During World War II, Connie and David worked together at Triumph Explosives, Inc. plant located in Elkton MD. David fell ill one morning and Connie stayed home to take care of her husband. That particular day, there was a terrible explosion that killed several co-workers. God was surely with them.

While her husband was serving his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees during WWII, Connie resided and worked in the homes of others. She cared for their children and her daughter Harriette. As years passed, 3 more children were born unto Connie and David (David, Kathleen and Deborah). She worked at the following companies: Denny Rayburn, Lasko, Memorial Hospital of W.C., Town & Country and Channel Home Center. She retired from Channel Home Center in 1993 after 15 years of employment.

Connie loved to travel. Her and her husband traveled to many islands such as Jamaica, Hawaii, etc. They purchased several motor homes in which they traveled throughout the United States. Many times on these trips they were accompanied by their adult children. She loved challenging her family at playing scrabble. Her favorite past time was playing her piano. She loved being with her family. Her family was her number one priority.

Connie is survived by her brother Leon O. Anderson, Jr. (Paula) of Exton, PA., her 4 children Harriette Mae Clark (Luther) of West Chester, PA, David E. Bond Jr. (Carolyne) of West Chester, PA, Kathleen June Roeser of West Chester, PA, and Deborah Ingrid Bond of Largo, FL, twelve grandchildren, host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Connie was loving and kind to all that was fortunate enough to know her. She was the glue that bonded and kept her family together. She will be surely missed by family and friends.
