Bruce C. Cunningham formerly of West Chester

Bruce C. Cunningham, 64 of Bishopville, MD formerly of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on Friday June 30, 2017 at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit in West Chester.

He was the husband of Karen Cunningham.

Born June 30, 1953 in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph M. Cunningham and the late Mary L. Mason Cunningham.

After attending Henderson High School in West Chester, he began his career as a carpenter and was a member of the Philadelphia Carpenters Union for over twenty years.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in West Chester for many years.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter and an exceptionally talented carpenter.  In his free time, he enjoyed building and tinkering with things. He also loved nothing more in life than spending time with his children and grandchildren.  

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his seven children, Bruce Jr., Jason, Hans, Rebekah, Palma, Kierra and Samantha and seven grandchildren.  He is also survived by his three brothers, Michael and his wife Patricia, Mark and his wife Linda, Stephen and his wife Dawn, one sister, Louise Dotson and her husband Jerry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing of the urn and visitation on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 9:30 – 10:30am at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 603 West 2nd Avenue, Parkesburg, Pa 19365; followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am.

Interment will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery in West Chester.  

Following services, there will be a gathering to celebrate his life at the Knights of Columbus, 110 West Market Street, West Chester Pa 19380.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for the benefit of Bruce's young children. Checks should be made payable and mailed to The Kierra and Samantha Cunningham Benefit Fund, c/o M&T Bank, 11003 Manklin Creek Rd, Berlin, MD 21811 or Donations can be brought into any M&T branch location to be deposited into that Benefit Fund.
