Anna “Carla Lombardi” Heald passed away July 22, 2019 after a 3-year struggle against leiomyosarcoma. She died peacefully without pain, surrounded by her family. She was 80 years old.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Anthony “Tony” Heald, her son, Riccardo Heald of New York City; daughter Gabriella Heald of West Chester; her beloved grandchildren Marguerite and James Xuereb of West Chester and Owen Healdbaum of New York City.
Carla was a visual artist who combined a love for ceramics with a colorful approach to depicting the human figure in contemporary landscapes.
She graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts with a degree in painting and Tyler School of Art with an MFA in ceramics.
Born in Florence, Italy she went to Cambridge, England at age 18 where she met her future husband, Tony. They immigrated to the United States in 1970 with their son and daughter.
She enjoyed cooking and hosting parties, was an accomplishing seamstress and was known for rescuing wildlife. She loved natural and man-made beauty and greeted everyone with a smile and her generous Italian warmth.

Church St., West Chester PA 610-696-1181 DellaFH.com and on Monday, July 29 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am; followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 am
Interment will be in Oaklands Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
