Ann L. Young

Ann L. Young, 93, of West Grove, PA died Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit. 

She was the wife of the late J. Nelson Young with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

Born July 17, 1924 in West Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late George J. Laffey and the late Anna Moulder Laffey.

Ann was a 1942 graduate of Unionville High School and a member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church in West Grove. She was a dairy farmer for over 55 years and owned and operated Timberlawn Farm in West Grove.  She was a lifetime member of the Ayrshire Breeders’ Association from which she received the prestigious National Distinguished Service Award in 2000. 

She is survived by her children: Susan Edwards (Robert), Barbara Rudy, Charles Young, Sr.  (Debra), Judith Fincher (Richard), and Ellen Cross (Garry); nine grandchildren:  Matthew, Charles, Jr., Ryan, Melissa, Kelly, Megan, Kathryn, Elizabeth, and Jennifer; 17 great-grandchildren; and siblings Dr. Elmer Laffey, Lydia Leo, and Norman Laffey.

She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Jerry Rudy, brothers, George "Bud" Laffey, John Laffey, and sister, Virginia Mackey. 

Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 9:30-11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380; followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Entombment will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
