Mary Ann Hannum Obituary

Mary Ann Hannum, age 66, of Coatesville, PA passed away on Saturday April 20, 2024 at her home.

Born October 18, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Vincent L. Congialdi and the late Patricia Carey.

Mary Ann grew up in West Chester, PA and attended B. Reed Henderson High School. She went on to study and earn her cosmetology license after attending the Bryland School of Beauty.

She worked as a Hairstylist until 2023, most recently having been employed by Candy’s Salon in Valley Township. She established and maintained friendships with many of her fellow stylists throughout the years. She also was a cashier at her local Giant Supermarket in Thorndale, PA. She will be remembered for being a social butterfly with a big personality who looked to connect with each client who sat in her chair, and with each customer who visited her check-out line.

Mary Ann was also a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Downingtown, PA, and maintained a strong belief in her Lord, whom her family is comforted in knowing welcomed her as she made her ascent from this life into the next chapter.

Mary Ann will forever be known for her big smile, her infectious laugh, and her love for friends and family. She knew how to make everyone feel special and loved. Never one to forget a sentimental date, she made it a priority to wish everyone happy birthday, congratulate on each anniversary, and send well wishes for each milestone. She was also known for engaging with others through Facebook, always the first to comment with positivity on every post she read. The greatest joy in her life currently was the time spent with her beloved grandchildren, for whom she cared deeply. She never missed an opportunity to express her love for and pride in her grandsons and granddaughter. Her daughters will remember her best for singing at the top of her lungs to the radio in her car, sunbathing and people watching on the beach in Ocean City, MD, and just genuinely enjoying life while dancing the night away with friends. In her younger years, she also enjoyed maintaining her vegetable garden and painting ceramics.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Kellie T. Hannum and Krista D. Hannum; grandchildren Santino Vincent Santos, Reynaldo Santos III, Jaxson Marchese, and Anastasia Marchese; siblings Joseph Congialdi (Lena), Vincent Congialdi (Leslie) and Theresa Yeoell (Joseph); nieces and nephews Tony (Michelle), Nicasia (Bill), Daniel (Kelly), Trisha (Justin), Vinny and Liza; many great nieces and nephews; and uncle Joseph Congialdi.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc.; 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380; followed by her Funeral Service at 7:00 pm.
