Joseph Cacchio Obituary

Joseph J. Cacchio, 71 of West Chester, PA passed away Monday April 1, 2024, from dementia and Parkinson’s. He was at his home in West Chester with his wife, children, and mother-in-law by his side.

Born November 22, 1952, in Philadelphia, PA. Joe grew up in Drexel Hill and graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1971.

Along with his wife of 35 years, Joe founded and sold six successful companies and was President and Chief Operating Officer of J.J. Cacchio Enterprises, Inc. for the past 31 years. Joe was extremely proud when his children joined the company and stepped in to continue his successful business journey.

Known by many as Joe Cash, Joe Mr. Clean or Joey, you aways knew Joe was nearby when you heard his familiar whistling, and he always lit up any room he entered. He enjoyed cleaning, playing drums and listening to music. He was happiest, however, when he could lend a hand and help anyone in need, never asking or wanting anything in return.

Joe was a member of the Sea Scouts, Saint Andrew’s Players and he enjoyed doing the light and sound for Starkweather Elementary, Stetson Middle School and many other establishments. Because of Joe’s generosity, there are many organizations that will continue to be able to listen with ease to any performance because of the sound systems Joe donated.

In addition to his wife, Amy L. Cacchio (Thompson), Joe is survived by sons Andrew and Brendon, daughter Sophia, sister Patricia Cacchio Boyle (Eddie), mother-in-law Nancy Blackman Thompson, sister-in-law Melissa Thompson Fry (Michael), Nephews Michael (Karen), David (Julie) and Stephen (Louisa) Boyle and Curtis Fry, many great nephews and great nieces, numerous cousins and dear friends Bob Cellucci and Jim LeBresco.

Joe is predeceased by his parents Pasquale Cacchio and Mary T. Carozza Cacchio, his father-in-law Senator Robert J. Thompson and best friend Marty Sabin.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 2:00 pm –3:45 pm at First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, 130 W. Miner St. West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Service at 4:00 pm.

Interment will be private.

Dementia and Parkinson's robbed him prematurely of his memories, but we will not allow Dementia to rob us of our memories of Joe.
