Edward J. Boyer of West Chester

Edward J. Boyer, 94 of Reading, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 3, 2024, at the Chester County Hospital.

He was the husband of Shirley L. (Kirn) Boyer for 69 years.

Born July 22, 1929, in Reading, PA. He was the son of the late Edward J. Boyer and the late Helen Boyer.

Edward attended Reading High and graduated in 1947. He also attended Penn State University to take classes in engineering.

He worked as an Engineer for Car Tech Steel for many years.

He enjoyed golf, following the stock market, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Edward served in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the USS Missouri for three years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter-in-law, Kathleen H. Boyer, grandchildren Katie B. Clark (Steve), Christopher Boyer (Elise Beale) and great-granddaughter Laney Clark.

He was preceded in death by his son, Edward James Boyer IV.

Services and interment will be private.
