Clarence Thomas Glass, Jr., 87 of West Chester, PA passed away Monday April 22, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family after a valiant fight with liver disease.
He was the husband of the late Julia F. (Bridge) Glass, they were married for 62 years.
Born November 27, 1936 in Altoona, PA. He was the son of the late Clarence Thomas Glass and the late Maude Brown Glass of Cresson, PA.
Tom grew up in Cresson, PA and graduated from Cresson High School. While in high school, he was a member of the high school marching band as a drummer. He also attended the University of Maryland.
He worked as an Equipment Mechanic for Knox Rental and Kencor Elevator.
Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW in West Chester. He was a mentor to many individuals struggling and recovering from alcoholism.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, grilling and Sunday dinners were always his favorite. Tom’s other hobbies were being outdoors, gardening and cutting grass.
He is survived by his children, Thomas E. (Donna) of Newark DE, Mary Alice Fisher (J. Scott) of Wilmington DE, Suzanne M. Tronco (Henry) of Springfield, PA, Daniel G. (Barb) of Coatesville, PA, Christine M. Panzram (the late Jeffrey K. Panzram) of Tampa, FL, Paul M. (Lara Saxton) of Kennett Square, PA. Tom has 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Joyce Anne Sweet of Maryland and Madeline P. Justis of Indiana and his step-brother, William F. Hamilton of Alabama.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 9:00 am - 10:45 am at the St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment at will be at the St. Agnes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Coatesville VA Medical Center.
