William R. Linahan

William R. Linahan, 79 of Downingtown, PA died Tuesday March 13, 2018 surrounded by family.

Born January 3, 1939 in Darby, PA, he was the son of the late John B. Linahan and the late Margaret Ryan Linahan.

William graduated from West Catholic High School and LaSalle University. He was retired from his position as a Guidance Counselor at St. Gabriel’s hall in Audubon, PA.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He adored them and was an integral part of their upbringing. He never missed a family gathering amongst his very large extended family, especially watching live Irish music with his brother. He embraced and celebrated his Irish heritage passionately. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and loved classical music and old movies.

He is survived by his two daughters, Christy Neilson and her husband Mark and Trisha Graham and her husband Kevin; seven grandchildren, Kayla Linahan-Neilson, Devon & Hannah Neilson and  Denali, Brody, Theo & Stone Graham; four sisters Pat, Joan, Peggy, and Fran and one brother, Dick; he is predeceased by three sisters, Anne, Phyllis and Ruth, and four brothers, Jack, Bob, Tom, and Mike.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon at St. Joseph Church, 332 Manor Ave. Downingtown, PA; followed by his Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon.

Interment will be Monday March 19, 2018 at 11:00 am in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
