Wayne E. Boekenkamp

Wayne E. Boekenkamp of Norwood.

Wayne E. Boekenkamp, 68 of Norwood, PA died Monday, July 25, 2016 at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media.

He was the husband of Susan M. Martin Boekenkamp and the late Alice Bach Boekenkamp.

Born December 12, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late E. Marvin Boekenkamp and the late Janet Knorr Boekenkamp.

Wayne served his country in the Air Force during Vietnam.  

Wayne was a 1965 graduate of the Interboro High School in Prospect Park, where he excelled in swimming.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved the beach. He was passionate about the Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers.

He has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church since September 30, 1973.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Daniel W. Boekenkamp (Jeanette) of Allentown, Colette M. Thomas (Michael) of Downingtown; grandchildren Nadia, Emma, Madelynn, Abigail, Addison. Two stepchildren Walt K. Martin (Cynthia) of Millville and Christie M. Martin of Norwood; grandchildren Doug, Ryan, Cole, Zach, Willow and Ruby; and sibling Janet B. Thompson (George) of West Chester.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 6:00pm -7:00 pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; followed by his Memorial Service at 7:00 pm.

Interment will be private.
