Thomas Shearer George, 66, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Penny, and his two sons, Christopher and Shane. A beloved father and husband, Tom will always be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast loyalty, and devoted love for his family.

Tom and Penny had a once-in-a-lifetime love story which lasted the better part of 40 years. They met in 1977 while working at Rollins Truck Leasing and began their courtship at a Spinners concert. Kissing under a streetlamp outside Franklin Field, they quickly and passionately fell in love in a relationship that would define both of their lives. Though Tom was a man of few words, one simply needed to see the way he looked at Penny to know the depth of his love. Across four decades, they never ceased to cherish their time together, never taking anything for granted – they knew every day how lucky they were.

Tom’s legacy lives on through his sons, Chris and Shane. Tom was ultimate role model on what a husband, father and man should be. Spoiling them with love, they never wanted for anything and always knew that, when in doubt, do what Tom would do.

Though he passed away too young, Tom lived a full life; a life filled with love, happiness and more good memories than could be counted. He had no ragrets - not even a letter.

A private memorial service will be held in due course.
