I appreciate how important the English teachers at Archbishop Prendergast High School have impacted my working life. Although not a student of Sister Maureen Thomas...I thought that with her involvement in many of our lives that she was very serious about our communication skills and their development. May she rest in peace!

Sister Maureen Thomas (Sister Ann- so hard to get used to calling her that) was my role model-always so encouraging- she took a shy girl of 14 and made her feel important by inviting her to join the newspaper staff at Immaculata High School, Somerville, NJ. I became an English major because of Sister. When she first met my husband who was raised Methodist and he was so nervous about meeting "a nun"- she put him completely at ease. When my class had its 40th Reunion four years ago, Sister came and added so much to the party- she even pretended to call one of us "down to the office" over the intercom. Sister always took an interest in the comings and goings of my twin daughters- now 33 years old- even meeting up with one of them in St Augustine, FL when she was enroute to spend some time with her brother. She will be so missed by so many. RIP dear Sister.

Sister Ann: was my 8th grade teacher but much more than that she always encouraged me to follow my dreams. I kept in touch with her all these years as she did with me. Always being encouraging. It has been over 50 years. I know she is with God and he is holding her close. Thank you Sister Ann for everything. Reba A. Gaughan
