Sandra Sue Phillips of West Chester.

Sandy Phillips, 64 of West Chester, PA died Sunday November 19, 2017. She was the wife of Vincent D. Phillips, with whom she recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. She is the beloved mother of two children, son Vincent D. Phillips Jr. and wife Amy, and daughter Susan Phillips. Also, beloved grandmother of two beautiful granddaughters, Amber and Emily Osborn.

Sandy was born on October 26, 1953 to Donna Mellinger Fryer and the late Robert Fryer of New Holland, PA. She graduated from Pequea Valley High School in 1971, and attended Bloomsburg University where she met the love of her life.

She is also survived by her sister, Donna Hershey (Charles) of Lancaster, PA, sister-in-law Frances VanBuskirk of Scranton, PA, and brothers-in-law, James P. Phillips (Louise) of Lake Ariel, PA and Joseph G. Phillips (Patricia) of Oneonta, NY. Sandy also leaves behind numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Sandy loved and adored her family. Her greatest joys included sharing in the accomplishments of her grandchildren, of whom she was infinitely proud, and celebrating the life events of every member of her extended family. In particular, she was proudest of being able to attend the birth of each new family member within 24 hours of birth, a feat she and her husband maintained for over 40 years. While she is affectionately known as Aunt Sandy to all of her nieces and nephews, she loved them as if they were her own.

She was an avid reader, intense pinochle player, lover of TV westerns, and she enjoyed cooking and canning. Sandy was an enthusiastic Penn State Football fan and loved going to the games in Happy Valley.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 6-9:00 pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00am on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380.  

Graveside Services will be at 1:00pm in Cathedral Cemetery, 1708 Oram St. Scranton, PA 18504.
