Rose M. (Sicoli) Valentino

Rose M. Valentino of West Chester.

Rose  M. Valentino, 91 of West Chester, passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2015 of natural causes in her home in West Chester.

She was the faithful and loving wife to Joseph for 66 years, and a dedicated and helpful women in her community and a member at St. Agnes Church for over 90 years.

Rose was born on April 2, 1923 to the parents of Dominic and Vincini Sicoli; and the eldest sister to six sisters and six brothers.

Rose lived in West Chester, and graduated from West Chester High School in 1941.

After graduation, she worked at Denny Tag as a secretary clerk and volunteered her time making surgical bandages for the World War II USA Military.

In 1947, Rose met her husband to be and in 1948 she was married to her lifelong beloved Joseph for 66 years.

Rose enjoyed needle point, was a bibliophile, and loved listening to classical composers such as Pavarotti, Bashetto, Mozart, and Beethoven.

She also enjoyed traveling with her husband in their retired years, volunteering her time in her community, such as the Salvation Army, feeding the poor and the needy and spending time with her family and friends.

Many times, Rose helped out at the Senior Center in West Chester and unselfishly committed herself to daily prayers, for those in need.

Rose's kind heart will be missed by many; her warm smile and humble spirit was a blessing to all.

May God bless you and keep you in his blessed love, eternally.  Our beloved Rose, rest in peace, in Jesus arms.  Amen

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at 10:00am on Wednesday, April 1, 2015at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380; where visitation will begin at 9:00am.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Downingtown.
