Ronald D. Parke, Sr.

Ronald (Ron) D. Parke Sr. of Downingtown (formerly West Chester), 73, passed away Monday, July 11th, 2016 at Briarleaf Nursing and Convalescence Center in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

He was the husband of Mary Parke (Powers), the father of 5 children, and grandfather of 4.

Born December 13th, 1942 in West Chester, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Robert P.H. Parke Jr., and the late Elizabeth J. Parke (Brosius).

Ron graduated from West Chester (Henderson) High School in 1960 at the age of 18.

While residing in West Chester, he was an employee at Jake Shur & Sons Army & Navy Store, Mosteller's Department Store, and Mitchell's Menswear. He also owned his own clothing store, Parke Place LTD. Following that, he was an employee of Pennwood Landscaping and later on, an employee of Moon Landscaping, where he worked for over a decade. 

In his younger years, Ron was an avid and achieved member of the Boy Scouts of America, and enjoyed spending his time outdoors.

Ron also enjoyed watching baseball & football, always cheering for the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Philadelphia Eagles. He cherished his family & friends, and truly loved his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his children, Ronald D. Parke Jr., Karen L. D'Eramo (their mother, Anita Sterling), Deborah E. Parke, Jennifer M. Keen, and Jeffrey L. Parke; grandchildren, Stephanie and Anna D'Eramo, Joshua Captis, and Mackenzie Keen. Ron is also survived by his youngest brother, Robert G. Parke. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Edward R. Parke.

For now, the family is simply asking for prayers and positive thoughts. Though interment will be private, the time & place of a memorial service has yet to be determined. The family will update everyone as that particular information becomes clear.
