Philip John Ovelman of Coatesville.

Philip John Ovelman, 66 of Coatesville, PA, died Monday, September 11, 2017 at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Colleen M. Johnson for over 25 years and together for over 40 years, and the father of Antoinette M. Johnson.

Born February 9, 1951 in West Chester, PA, he was the son of Grace Spaziani Ovelman and the late Joseph Alexander Ovelman, Sr.

He served his country proudly in USMC during the Vietnam War.

Philip had worked for Chester County Prison for 30 years where he retired as a Captain of Security. 

In addition to his wife and daughter, his mother Grace Spaziani Ovelman, his sister Nancy Ovelman and his brother Joseph Ovelman Jr, survives him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court West Chester, PA 19382; followed by his funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon. 

Interment will be held in Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester, PA.
